Mocks are not the true reflection of what you will score on D-Day @tanyasharma4452 - They should just be used as a means to guage performance and even more than that to analyze at the end to identify strong and weak areas so that we may further increase the score. Infact, you should take some past CAT papers at this stage to see where you are and am sire it would help you in boosting your confidence level.

Cheers and All the best.

I have started preparing for cat this year since July.

And I've joined time crash course.

I've solved time material but it's not sufficient.

What more can I do to improve my score?

@visionIIM-ACL When you say skim through, do I look at all the questions once, marking the ones I could do in the first round and then getting back to them, or skim through as I solve the sitters?

@visionIIM-ACL Just read the article you shared. Will implement the points from the very next mock :). I guess the tricky part is not surrendering to your ego and pulling out of a question in the first 30/60 seconds! I need to stop getting carried away there .

@hemanth03 Either ways - will suggest to try out both ways in couple of mocks to see what works the best for you. I personally prefer to keep solving sitters which take very less time while skimming through. :)

Set! I have an unproctered SIMCAT a while from now. Will be great to discuss how it went (strategy wise) with you, whenever you find the time I will bug you once the test is over

@kinji.at.pg1 About the analysis of mock CATs that you mentioned..Right now, even if there are some concepts here and there I haven't covered, I am focusing more on solving as many questions as possible (primarily from mocks) and then learning better techniques/concepts. I hope this is fine. I am not exactly doing the "Chalo, let's go through all concepts and then solve problems" thing.

With CAT season gearing up, I request fellow puys who need any assistance from me to please tag me in the post - that makes it easy to reach out to your post and help you! :)

Else, it is like a web where it is pretty tough to reach out to appropriate threads to assist you! :)

Cheers and wish everyone good luck for the upcoming season!!

@hemanth03 I think response of Kinjal is pretty exhaustive. Just to add few things:

1. With new pattern, you have the option to skim through the paper - so while solving any section especially QA and DI, do not get on with seemingly lengthy questions at first go. Skim through and solve sitters first. Then move to easy but lengthy questions, followed by moderate questions. Remember even easy questions are of two types: Easy and quick to be solved, easy but lengthy! :)

2. DI problem being faced by you is more of a confidence problem in my honest opinion - will suggest to not to panic and pick up DI papers of CAT 2002-2006 and solve them to get some confidence. Solve them in time bound manner and analyze after solving. Am sure, it will help you and you will be more confident in solving DI sets with large sets of data.

Also, check the 50-30-20 pattern and strategy discussed by me in this article - might be helpful

@shrena Just solving will not help - Do ensure that you analyze every set of questions that you solve - remember if you take 30 minutes to solve 20 questions, it will take atleast 2 hours to analyze them properly - Analysis will help you in improving - and even if you solve a question correctly, analyze it - you may sometimes find a better and quicker way to solve the same. :)

There is still enough time so need not worry - you can easily modify strategy to prepare even at this stage. Will recommend solving past CAT papers (since you have already done some prep) , not much - just couple of them preferably 2003-2004 and see where you stand.

Analyze them and you should be in a better position to know your standing. Accordingly, strategy ahead can be planned.

Also, in case you have identified some weak areas already, let me know and I can help you in improving/preparing them.

Cheers and All the best.
