@MANEE there is no speciality or distinct work culture in pnb, the only difference is training which is like a tour package for 6 months, we learnt many things in different kind of branches and had a good exposure in various departments in training, but what I felt after training when we got final posting into branches, there is a huge communication gap between circle/regional offices to the branches, and people who are working don't have knowledge on new changes in the system, new products, new patterns etc... They are still doing in a very traditional and unconventional way. Many people who don't have minimum knowledge of computers are acting as managers. We can't blame them, it's duty of the regional office to train them in new technologies etc. Behaviour depends on persons and not only in PNB but in all the PSB's two departments are very week
1)HRD
2)GAD(General Admin Dept)
In hrd they don't recruit staff well and put 4 persons in a 50 crore branch where it requires minimum 7 persons
GAD is also becase they never bother branch maintainance such as renovation, repair etc and many private banks are coming up in rural areas with centralized a/c branches with good ambiemce. If we have only 4 staff instead of 7 required, where do we get the chance to serve customers better.....
And if we want to take leave, it's like a hell, if one person is in leave, then remaining three have to run from morning to evening...
Signatures as far as you are saying, that you get to know by practice, so don't sign at whatever the place without knowing for what you are signing, atleast in beggining, and don't hesitate to ask if your mgnr or some senior persons asked your signature and they might play tricks like you're doubting me and all... but nobody will to rescue you if you caught in any problem, so be careful..........

@IBPSCOCKROACH sorry for my late reply, it is already in due, discussions started, let's hope that it will settle soon, and that increment will apply from nov 12
Hey guys....
I hope atleast some of you remember me. I'm working with PNB since 1.5 years almost and was a follower of this thread... I got very valuable inputs from this thread....
The amount of hard work which I've done is nothing when compared to the work which I'm doing now in the bank.....
Before joining in the bank be prepared for doing hard work includes lot of useless things and have lot of patience with you.... I hope IBPS is doing good by conducting common entrance... Don't think that joining in a bank is like relaxed thing which everyone feels... My experience of almost 1.5 years taught me lot of things..... Let's hope that after the pay scale revision we'll will get good pay....

Hi friends, good evening to all, my wishes to all, I'm enjoying in rural India, god's own country kerala, as here every day it rains, umbrella is a mandatory thing like lunch box.
Now, let's come to the point, Some people are firing at PNB regarding it's recruitment of only 775 officers and finally selected around 320. I don't know the reason behind, as these decisions will be taken at G.M level and I'm just a scale-1 officer. But what I can say is that working in a small rural branch itself is a difficult task, then think about the work at GM level. Actually many people in HRD told me that there would be about 2500 vacancies in pnb in scale-1 and every month the number is increasing. But I can say one thing, those who made it in final list in PNB, don't lose the opportunity to join pnb as the promotion is getting very faster compared to other banks.

People who joined in 2009 MT batch, are in scale 2 now. Whoever applied for promotion got it and you believe it or not around 1400 people were promoted to scale 2 from scale 1 out of which 60% was on fast tack i.e based on written test. They reduced cut-off in such a way that every one got promotion. Only about 1500 applied for promotion and those who didn't get it only because of charge sheet pending on them, rest of all were elevated to second level.

Everyone is asking about home posting, I want to say only one thing, before getting job everyone think that let me select in the bank first, and I will work in any area in country... But after joining you made it that I want home posting. If anyone got posting in U.S or U.K or any foreign country, nobody think about family love etc, everyone goes happily, then why you don't want to work in other areas? Maybe if anyone got their home posting initially, they may not home posting next time. So today or tomorrow they are going to leave their home town or stick to where ever you're.

As I said above 1400 people were promoted to scale 2, so the 1400 vacancies created by them were filled either by new MT's or promoting clerical employees. So PNB invited clerical employees of having 3 or more years service in PNB and 10th std pass(those who joined as daftary or sub staff) are also allowed to take part into promotion process.

So if daftaries are becoming officers, then imagine the growth level in PNB. Yes I agree that I am also the one who cursed the management by joining the bandwagon with my batch-mates. But I slowly realized my value in PNB, by managers advice. He told me only one thing, imagine your life without pnb, and then say anything about the bank. Yes, internally we fight a lot but at the end of day, the only thing is that youre the part of a big organization. I can see myself in better position in PNB. Ive seen people in who joined in 2005 as scale 1 became scale 3 in 2011 itself. So before saying anything about an organization, please lets assess ourselves.

ps123 Says
has anyone recieved any communication from BoI yet ?

wait patiently, BOI and union bank are the banks which declare results early and give call letter later, be patient, they'll prepare all the internal process like allocation of branch/region after declaring the result and it's good thing as many people who are waiting for results, doesn't matter to wait for 2 more weeks after declaring the result

Great to see the thread, the only reason I was selected in these many banks was because of this thread, I am very sad because I'm not contributing anything to this thread. Don't know where the days gone.... I used to go and apply each and every bank which called for vacancies. The days where every sunday is a joy day to write a new bank exam(at that time common exam was not there). I completed almost 11 months in PNB, i feel proud that I'm working with pnb. I've really enjoyed a lot starting from training to posting now. I'm from hyderabad and now in kerala... Monsoons touched kerala today itself and I'm really enjoying my place of posting even it's 1200 kms from my hometown.
This is the unique thing in banks where you get to know different cultures, different traditions, different languages(I know only english and telugu before joining in pnb but know I can speak hindi, understand marathi, punjabi and malayalam little bit). Hopefully everyone get selected from this thread and all the best for syndicate bank final selections, those who're from northern part of India be prepared for south indian posting as more no of branches are in south for syndicate bank, max in karnataka and andhra
all the best!!!!
