i hv heard that avg. pckg of sies is hyped.....

Hey,

I would love to know the source of your information.... since being a student here and having completed one year in this institute I have never come across any hype or fudging of placement statistics... Actually, siescoms is known to be very honest when it comes to placement details...
It is said that a person should never go on hearsay and it would be prudent on your part to be part of the gd/pi process and find out for yourself about the placements. Loose statements bordering on allegations without being backed up by proof do no good to anyone and can only lead to rumor-mongering. If you wish to know any further details you are always welcome.
Hope I have made my point clear.

hi seniors is there any type of OBC qota at SIES
tell me abt placements
wat was avg n highest placement of last year
is it really a better college under mat

Hey,

There is no OBC quota at SIESCOMS. It is one of the best colleges which accept MAT score. For the details about the last year's placement records you can check the college website.
From my personal experience till now, I can say that it is a very good college and there are more than enough opportunities for a person with potential.

@seniors
is there any minority quota in siescoms for south indians or no for pgdm..?

Hey,

No there is no quota for South Indians in PGDM at SIESCOMS. The college had to shift to the quota system because of the new regulations by AICTE. But now, as that order been stayed by the High Court, there is no quota for South Indians.

hey,

I scored 87% in my feb mat. i am from hyderabad, and i have sent them my documents through courier on tuesday, 1st of march. and i've seen that a few people have got call's for their gd/pi. So does that mean they are not considering me or that i am not eligible.

And also could you guys please suggest some other colleges that i can apply too with this score.

Hey,

The sale of forms is till 22nd of March. The office is processing the forms as they come in. Don't worry...You will definitely get a mail or call from the college soon. The people who have got the calls are those who had applied earlier.

Thanxs a ton Sir for those encouraging words of yours.

But, I would also like to know about the fee structure of SIESCOM?

And it may sound sheepish but whats the full form of "SIES"?

SIES stands for South Indian Education Society... You can check out the fees on the website. It's there in the FAQs. I believe for your batch it is Rs. 225000/- per annum...

i am talking about last year
for mms (60 seat) till last year there was 50% qota for si in mms which is to happen before cap round and remaining 50% was through cap round of dte open for all
and pgdm(120) was open for all

this year i am too confuse after reading this posts
my gd is on 5 th and i am going i think we should on date on which on we are called to be in safe side
outstation student should confirm because for them it would be costly affair

Hey,

The 50% reservation in MMS course still exists...There is a separate procedure for admission in MMS conducted by DTE. As for the reservation in PGDM, the course is open to all. The South Indian linguistic minority rule has been scrapped off.
You will most probably get a call from college in a day or two about the GD/PI on 5th March.
@ Kashyap,
Very well summed up bro....It has been really really great times that we have had here at SIESCOMS...

Would like to add on somethings that I found to be awesome here....
We had an event called Vyapaar organised by our seniors for us. It was an event where we had to use all the concepts that we had learnt or read in our 2 months at SIESCOMS...Now more about the event...

As the name suggests, it was an event where the contestants had to do real trade and earn profits in order to win the event. What made the event even more interesting is that the budget for each team of 10 members , was ` 2000. Also, contestants were not allowed to trade in FMCG products. So, the contestants would have to use all their creativity to manage the tight budget and win the event.
The Trade Day was on 16th September, 2010. On this day, the teams from PGDM and MMS courses from SIESCOMS had to do the actual selling, and the actual exchange took place. Students were just allowed to book sales and purchase orders and promote their products in the period preceding 16th September.
This event taught us a great deal. We got first hand experience in negotiations, working in a team, selling and purchasing...

What I have written above is the media release for the event thats why the difference in the font. :splat:
The fun that we had during this event cannot be measured...Working out deals till the malls got closed, booking sales by approaching all the faculties and finally putting up a sold-out board even before the trade started....

These were some of the high points during the event....
Looking forward to many such events in the future....
Will right more soon...
