Finally the much awaited results of SIC(summer Internship Cell) were announced today.A total of 3 people from my class made through the final list and now they share the burden of high hopes of the fellow classmates.
All the best to the selected ones.
An overall eventful day ended with a very pertinent presentation by a representative from the prowess database. While it was a very informative and detailed session, the understanding was simplified by a live demo of the software used for searching and analysing the database. Eyes in the auditorium brightened when it was told that one can actually track market legends like Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and look for tips while investing in the market. However the prime concern of the students was getting useful information that might be helpful in the academic assignments.
Considering that this session was in addition to a previous similar session organized by CRISIL ,it reflects the management €™s interest in promoting finance learning among the students which is a highly encouraging sign for finance enthusiast.
Kudos to all the organizers and hoping for similiar sessions in the future as well.

GD Topic : Should freedom of expression be given to all?
GD Time limit: 12 mins
GD Experience : We were given 7 minutes to write down points on the GD topic on a sheet of paper and were asked to only state those points in the GD
After the 7 minutes were over, we started with our GD which lasted for about 10-12 minutes.
PI experience :
3 panelists - Prof. Hitesh Arora and Prof Reeta Raina were two of them. Third was a XL alum and founder of a start-up.
HA: Tell us something about yourself.
Me: blah blah blah
XL: You said Churchill and Gandhi inspires you. What do you know about their views about India?
ME:told(ah! my territory)
HA:who was better leader and why
Me:Sir i am too small a person to compare legends like them
XL gave me a lot of gyaan on how churchill was against granting freedom to India.
XL:So now still you think Churchill can be anybody idol , how can sb idolize him
Me: told about churchill qualities that i learned about him,semi-satisfied XL
Prof Raina : so how do you define leadership?
Me: blah blah
Prof Raina: where do you see yourself in 10 years what is your long term goal
Me: Blah Blah
Prof Raina: Oh cmon you are contradicting yourself by mixing entrepunership and corporate life
Me: more gyaan
Prof raina : okk you may leave now
Me: (no current affairs , no acads , no grilling ...just basic HR ...were you guys passing time with me or what??)
It was so unexpected for me that i even forgot the question i had prepared for them.after all you dont meet such people daily (Xl alum was really knowlegable and smart)
Initially i felt a surge of relief as i was not grilled as my earlier counterparts were. But on second thought , i realize that since i was the last person to visit they were too tired. Maybe they predecided that there is no use of grilling me as the expected cutoff for PGDM will be higher.
Still hoping for a convert.
PS: Kudos to seniors
Done with GD/PI today at FORE today ... till when can we expect results and final shorltists?
:clap:for seniors and their efforts today
Mine GD/PI was on 13 Feb.
Firstly , there were many people who didnot came and hence the remaining people were clubbed together to make 5 batches instead of 8 ..of around 15 ppl each. This meant only 75-80 ppl turned out of expected 160!
GD was basically on a case study which revolved around work-ethics vs personnel interest scenario. Had a pretty decent GD as i was the second person to enter ...made 4-5 entries in the GD..others were sensible enough to not make a fish market .... But we couldnt reach a conclusion!!
After ten mins or so we were told to write the summary on a piece of paper given to us.
PI was a chilled one ..hardly ten-fifteen minutes it took.. Was grilled on hobbies ... Why mba .....wont it be unethical to leave your company ... It went pretty okk.
so that was it n hope my experience helps all the aspirants ..atb!
I am feeling like
First i screwed up my CAT Exam ,got only 88.xx
gone are all the bucks spent in NITIEs.MDIs, not to forget IMTG.
Somehow i consoled myself and settled for the GD/PI calls form FORE & LBS.
Was really looking forward to convert atleast one of them .
BUT there goes my 3000 bucks and all the hopes as they both have decided to conduct GD/PI on the same date same time same slot!!!!!...Neither of them wants to change the slot though FORE atleast has done it for some outstation candidates.(EVEN LBS did it last year source :threads)
Now i have to choose one among them even before i had a sure shot convert call !! dont know what to do now::
Called for GD/PI process.
Work-Ex:15 months approx in IT
Do i need to produce any specific work ex certificate from my employer inorder to get credentials for it or only my pay slip and appointment letter will do?
Thanks in advance
