Hi..I appeared in CAT 2008...and I didn't appear in CAT 2009...

I don't have any details regarding CAT 2008 like admit card. score card...i don't have any details....

Will those info(like percentile, hall ticket number...) be needed while appearing for CAT 2010...?

Also i have one doubt regarding CAT 2010...

In TIME AIMCAT series, lets say i m choosing an option 2 for Qn1....

I am able to change to answer option (say to option 3) at any time....

My doubt is.....

But, if i think that this question is very tough, better not to attempt this question, if i want to un-attempt that question..., ie un-choose the answer,....!!!!
i am unable to do this in AIM CAT....(Once attempted questions are attempted.... u can't escape from that qn...)

Or clarify me if there is any option for this in AIMCAT itself...?

Will this be the same situation in CAT 2010 also... ?, Seniors, those who attended CAT 2009, pls clarify....

No info from CAT 2008 would be required for you to appear in CAT 2010..
I remember we were able to change the option/leave the question unanswered after choosing some option in both AIMCAT as well as actual CAT..Click near the radio button you have chosen as your answer..it should be cleared..

Mail regarding Laptop from Kavitha Subramanian (IT Com Secretary) meant for those who have already confirmed for HP laptop:

The payment details for HP ProBook are:

DD in favour of Redington India Ltd, payable at Bangalore

Amount:
4320 - Rs
40495/-
4520 - Rs
45040/-

I would be sending a spreadsheet soon to get your personal details and payment details (which would include DD number). Hence, I request you to get the DD yourself rather than waiting for the loan here on campus, which might delay the process

Additionally, we would require 2 copies of your confirmation letter from the institute and 2 copies of the fee receipt which you will get after registration

Education Loan

I had sent a mail regarding Education loan to SAC today. I got a reply from Mayank Shree Jain that they are meeting with a few banks in the next 3-4 days and will let us know the details after that. I would suggest to wait for a few days before sending the documents to SB Indore. We might end up having better options.

Guys..Is it just 4.5 Lacs as mentioned here or we can hope for the cap to be raised
I don't see this 4.5 Lacs mentioned anywhere in the docs sent today...Can we apply even if family income is a bit beyond 4.5 Lacs?

I was trying to have a rough idea about Simple Interest to be paid per month during the course if one plans to take a loan of 11.55 Lacs from SB Indore.

4.55L: Tuition
0.85L: Hostel and Mess
0.45L: Laptop
0.15L: Caution Deposit
0.15L: SBI Life Insurance

Likely schedule for payments:
Jul 2010: 2L+0.15L+0.45L = 2.6L
Sep 2010: 1.85L..Cumulative 4.45L
Jan 2010: 1.75L..Cumulative 6.2L
Jun 2011: 1.8L..Cumulative 8.0L
Sep 2011: 1.8L..Cumulative 9.8L
Jan 2012: 1.8L..Cumulative 11.6L

Simple Interest payable at 8.75% (9.75-1) per month:
Aug 2010: (2.6L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 2000/-
Sep 2010: (2.6L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 2000/-
Oct 2010: (4.45L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 3300/-
Nov 2010: (4.45L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 3300/-
Dec 2010: (4.45L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 3300/-
Jan 2011: (4.45L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 3300/-
Feb 2011: (6.2L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 4600/-
Mar 2011: (6.2L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 4600/-
Apr 2011: (6.2L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 4600/-
May 2011: (6.2L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 4600/-
Jun 2011: (6.2L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 4600/-
Jul 2011: (8.0L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 6000/-
Aug 2011: (8.0L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 6000/-
Sep 2011: (8.0L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 6000/-
Oct 2011: (9.8L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 7200/-
Nov 2011: (9.8L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 7200/-
Dec 2011: (9.8L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 7200/-
Jan 2012: (9.8L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 7200/-
Feb 2012: (11.6L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 8500/-
Mar 2012: (11.6L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 8500/-
Apr 2012: (11.6L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 8500/-
May 2012: (11.6L*8.75)/(100*12) ~ 8500/-

Total Interest to be Paid till May 2012 ~ 120000/-
In this case, the loan amount will continue to be nearly 11.6 L at the end of May 2012 and thereafter interest will be compounded anually at the rate of 8.75%..Assuming that one starts paying from Sep 2012..
Loan amount would have grown to nearly 12.1L.

Converting into EMIs for 7 years: 19500 per month ie. total 16.4L(17.6L after adding SI paid during the course)

Converting into EMIs for 5 years: 25000 per month ie. total 15L(16.2L after adding SI paid during the course)

I don't think anthing about foreclosure is mentioned in the mail..I believe they won't charge extra for it..

Puys today we got the mail from the BM of SB INDORE...From that mail/documents I am not clear that if I want to apply for loan in my second year how should I proceed? Should I send the documents before joining in that case also? I am also not sure why they have added Rs. 100000 for miscellaneous expenses..If I don't require a loan of 12,70,000 why should I apply for that much amount?I am still waiting for the SAC co-ordinators' mail and not sending any scanned documents until that...Since I never took a loan earlier I am unaware about the terms and conditions....And since the amount is huge I don't want to take any wrong decision..M sure the case is same with most of you puys also...
Please share your views if I am wrong somewhere...

Loan amount can be as per your requirement. For example, if you don't need 100000 towards expenses, you can reduce that amount..Similarly they have mentioned 60000 towards equipment (I think it's for laptop)..If u don't want loan for it or are going for HP ones you can reduce that amount.

I'm still waiting for a mail from SAC or admission dept..As per my interaction with seniors in the meet, we will have an option of choosing the bank when we reach the campus and we will not require any more documents than the one we bring for registration..So I wld suggest you to wait for a few days before taking a call and sending across signed & scanned copies of the loan form..Anyways, I don't think there is any mention of a last date in the mail..
