@DangiAjay, I know many BOYS+ENGINEERS+GEN who make it into the IIMs. It's only the remaining ones who crib and rant and whine .. The ones who get into would never talk, They'll do it and emerge as managers. The left outs would criticize reservations, gender inclusion, this, that and almost every goddamn thing on earth. So stop it!!!!!!!!!!!1

So stop cribbing about it. The academic committees formed take every step after lot of brain-storming and reviews, not in a flash w/o any thinking. All these steps have to be appreciated. Also, read this whole interview. Doesnt he sound correct everyhwere but all you people will still view it cynically. Comeon!!

All you people will keep on criticizing CAT for the inclusion of 10th, 12th, graduation percentages in the final selection, but have you once understood the reason behind it? All the Directors have been citing reasons for it in their every interview. It is a sane move. Try applying in any foreign university: GRE, GMAT. They all consider all these aspects. IIMs need to do this, no doubt. Coaching business has to be eradicated. This would definitely increase the level of brilliance in an IIM. A person who persevered during his 10th boards and worked hard without anything in his mind is a true self-motivated guy. He worked hard for itt because he considered it also a so of achievementt without haveing anything in his mind. Shouldn;t such a person be considered? Tell me why a person who was never serious throughout his academic life and was 60% in 10th, 70% in 12th, 65% in ggraduation and who nevver cared about anything unless light strruck him one day and he thought CAT is an easy thing to nail! He studies for 5 months gets into a coaching, forsakes his semester exams(and lands up with 60% in that sem).. and eventually cracks CAT with 99.6%-or whatever?? This person obv cannot be trust-worthy, and any IIM wont consider takingg him. Why? Only because who can assure his consistency. This fluctuation isnt liked by anyone in the academic line. Trust me. You can call yourslef a later learner or whatever, but IIMs or any other top-level institute calls it sheer luck!! P.s: Apologies for my spelling mistakes ..

@aprofessor, May be tough for you people. IITians do it easily. I know most of them here. Studied for the last one month and landed up with 99.xx%tiles. It's not that tough for these people, you see. No offense to others ........

@aprofessor, Who told you that scoring a 10 GPA in an IIT is easy? Academics in IIT is tougher when you have the brightest of minds together. Even scoring a 8/10 is very tough. Average GPA in an IIT fluctuates in the range 6.5-7.5! And, he topper in most cases is 9.4-9.5. Not 10, as you said. @ApurvPandi, I loved the article. Superbly written. Studying just for a month, screwing your GPA in college and then scoring 99.9x% in a 3 hour exam doesn't prove you are the best. There can be a person who has 9+ GPA and have been sincere throughout college and school but just got screwed in that time frame and scored little less %tile. IIMs know which person o call and which not to.
Is it possible to prepone my PI venue? I have mine on Feb. 18th. Seniors plz help!!
