Need to know what kind of maths questions are being asked.. Basic or really tough ?

urgently require feedback pls..

Hey guys....just did it this afternoon.

Good questions this time around in ACET.
Much better than what we are fed on some practice portals..

Hi Karan,

Sent you a private message.

Please respond ASAP.

Thanks.

Thanks Nihit.

But not sure if you answered all questions: 1. Relevance of Work Exp. 2. Which other companies which visit the campus every year (since you mentioned that PSUs are ruled out, nevermind !!) would consider me........ more specifically- energy sector/Oil and Gas companies ?

I was going through the Insti's website which said 2/3rd of students are placed.. umm.. at the risk of sounding judgmental, should I say it is little concerning for experienced professionals ?

Hi,

My profile is as follows:

X- 81%
XII- 73%
BE (Chemical Engineering): 60.1%- First Class

Work Ex: 3 years 3 months in an IT firm, part of it in the manufacturing Domain

CAT :

OA - 89.22 %ile
Verbal: 88.80%ile
Quants: 85.85%ile

Being a Chemical Engineer, I do want to pursue my career in Energy Sector but I am not sure if my current Work Exp is relevant or not. Bearing in mind my profile, would you please throw some light on what kind of profiles I should expect post MBA(Energy Management) ?

With my profile, what are my chances of getting shortlisted?

I am over 26 years old now. (26.5 yrs).. Is age gonna play a spoiler during placements? I think PSUs are out already but which other companies would consider me for their placements? Also, with my profile would it be possible to cut through the Oil and Gas sector during placements?

Anticipating response seniors.

Bearing in mind my profile, would you please throw some light on what kind of profiles I should expect post MBA(Energy Management) ? Also, what are the kind of placements one can expect at GLIEMR ? (Profiles, CTCs, Companies etc.)

Finally, with my profile, what are my chances of getting shortlisted?

Also, how would you rate my chances of getting placed in an energy sector company post MBA since there is a work exp IT exp which may not be deemed as relevant ??

I applied through CAT for PGPBF 12-14 this year... 89.22%ile. Have got the call.... just that I am over 26 years now (26.5yrs to be more exact).. End of road already ! why the heck did I apply here is what comes to me as the first thought !! Getting Sick and tired of this whole MBA thing.. feel like an OLD HORSE !!

Hi Swastik,

Without checking the posts, would you be able to tell if they are irrelevant or not !! :P

But this aside, you go through every post to do excatly look for all relevant posts.. There will be genuine anguish if you see many users posting and reposting, almost pleading for replies.. I understand, not everyone could be replied but after browsing through about 20 pages I found all RELEVANT questions unanswered.. A natural feeling.. "Anguish"...Thus the post above.

Yes you could blame for not going through "ALL" the posts..for which I have apologized already in the post I made earlier..

Warm regards,
Prashant.

Wht the heck!!!!!!!!!!!!! get a life....why do u evn care to check the posts then...!! if u find the posts to be irrelevant its ur opinion..!! so stop preaching...!!

Hi Nishant,

Thanks so much for the reply.

Really Appreciate. Was not aware of this "Top 750" of all applicants mathematics.

Could you also throw some light on whether IITD considers giving profile based calls and how this Top 750 list is determined ? Only CAT percentiles or the Overall Profile?

By the way.. I was aware that only this year IITs have started accepting CAT scores and therefore expected only opinions.. there can't be a mathematical formula.. I know.. but I guess, you are taking these questions and are constantly getting a feedback on what kind of applications are coming your way.. Based on those things one would expect an OPINION and not necessarily any mathematics to chalk out a rough bracket of CAT %iles...

Nevertheless, I would like to thank you again for the prompt reply and apologize for any undue and inappropriate words used earlier..

Warm regards,
Prasahnt.

Hi Prashant,

If you would have the patience to look at the previous replies, then you would have referred to my repeated quote towards post number 195.
Let me repeat a bit for your 'convenience'.
Top 750 applicants out of all the applicants will move to the GD/PI stage. Take a guess on the number of students applying and do the math. Do you want us to do it for you???
If you have read any statistics at all, you would know that any future prediction or ESTIMATE as you call it, requires past trends and if you have been sincere enough to check, this is the FIRST time IIT Delhi is taking admission through CAT.

Feel free to take advice from your friends and other puys, and make a realistic prediction.

All the best!!!
