@Psychamour Hi. Yes, the person has an opportunity to work in a multitude of industries. Both Tata and Birla (the two biggie employers at IIMs) have a stint based system. Birla allows you to (or forces you to) work across four functions like finance, strategy, marketing etc across four of its many industries in a year to figure out where you can fit best. Then, you spend sometime in one role for a few yrs and move on based on interest levels, needs, openings etc.

Ha, but quite a few 'top-tier' consultants are still at level 3 wonly. I don't think ppl improve from one level to another. They're simply that way. I know MII passouts that are still type 1 and non-MBA people at level 4.

If we have profs who love teaching their classes and are awesome at it (and I've been in the classes of such IIM professors), I hardly think research, citations or anything else matters. There are others too, but let's not talk about them. Improving FPM, yes, that should be a priority.

Congrats to all fellow call-getters.

I have a query. if someone can reach the admissions office (current students?), PLS let me know the status on this.

I had requested for a change in interview centre stating the reasons for the same (BLR to MUM) which was accepted and I was asked to send in a mail reg the same with complete details.

I did that 7 days ago, but there has been no correspondence of any sort from IIMI if they even received the email. (Status unchanged several follow ups later) My actual interview date is on 5th at BLR, so I am not even sure what to do. Not in a position to go to Indore or Bangalore now, so I'd pls request someone at IIMI to request the admissions office to get back to the students.

My regn number is SR5916368.
I wonder why so many souls out here are still struggling with trying to send scanned copies of documents.

There is a simple feature in scanners which allows you to save the file as pdfs. I am not sure if every model has such a feature. But one can reduce the file size problem using this.

I was able to save both the application and scanned docs within 500 kb in a pdf format. Try this out in case you are still re-sending 5 MB- 10 MB emails.

P.S. Sorry for throwing light (if this was of any use that is) so late.. i only got a chance to visit posts now..

thanks. but unfortunately, even a 10 character email bounces.

so the features in scanners won't help.

also, the second mail, i guess, is supposed to mean that those technical souls who opted for the scan & send and unfortunately weren't in the top few who did it, can bring their hard copies to the interview. Or am I wrong?
