I'm a Telecom engg with on and off exp for the past 2 years. I've given the CAT once in 2007 and scored 60 without studying. I guess that's bad, but I think I can still make it while preparing properly for about 5 months...which I've already started.
In 2008, joined work and since then the on and off... I can see I'm more satisfied talking to people and with doing analysis and management rather than actual Techie work; though I'd still like to stay on with Telecom;
Also did soem System Integration work and found that a lot of fun, it had to do with consulting also. I was intrigued and I then thought the combination was awesome. MBA + still being in Telecom + continuously working. BUT there are so many issues... but .. I need to deal with the pressure.. I am aware of that...
I want to go for an MBA, so I can add some knowledge to the 2 years I've been going so slow in plus that I can't see myself doing purely technical work, and then age is another factor. I need to up
So now I'm considering part-time or distance.
1.) Is any such thing as one being better than the other.. I need to continue earning as I have no savings. I support the family so keeping a job alongside is Important!!
Might go for Full time LATER in life, but i have no choice now really. And this may turn out more fruitful anyways.
2.) I'm very unsure about whether a 'good' B-school will actually take me because of my on-&-off experience,...
3.) I cannot afford the really high ranked colleges, but I will be looking into scholarships too and external funding. But I still want to get the degree from the best possible place.
I even have to select FEW colleges and narrow the list so that I don't spend too much just applying here and there...
What can you all suggest?? If i can get answers to ANY of these queries I will be sooo grateful.
Thanks a LOT!
