Hi,

I am an MBA aspirant and also have an interest in being an IAS officer after my MBA, if given a chance and selected.

I just wanted to know if any other MBA student/aspirant/pass-out has similar aspirations and would like to discuss about the pitfalls and other matters regarding the Management subject optionals for IAS (UPSC - CSE exams).

If anyone knows someone who has done an MBA and then cleared UPSC, pls let us know on this thread. I am serious about it and hope there would be many people who would love to contribute to their NATION even after doing their MBA's also.

Optionals suitable for an MBA for the Civil Services Exam:
1. Economics and Management
2. Commerce and Management
(tell us about your optionals)

CSE 2008 notification at UPSC website:
UPSC

P.S: For Mods : is it proper to have an IAS exam thread here discussing the Management subject and its optionals here? If it is so, pls allow this thread to continue.

Hello though the thread is too old but i also want to go for the same, share your experience if you have appeared for civil services examination
hiiii guys please tell how should i register my self on amizone??
Hi,
Looking at your interest in HRM and your strengths you opt for HR as your specialization.HR department also calls for creative thinking. There are so many events, games and other activities which an HR need to organize to keep all the employee bonded and happy. You are comfortable talking to people, can work effectively in team. These are 2 important skills any good HR person should have.It is good that you can convince people but you will need to enhance this skill because like an HR needs to handle different people and at times you will have to tackle extremely difficult people.
Second stream would only compliment your specialization. You have to think how choosing IT or Operation or any other stream would compliment you career in HR.If you have already decided to go ahead with HR so decide which stream would benefit you and at the same time do not ignore your interest.
