For once, a government institution thinks of ground realities....all this seat increasing measures to give an inclusive education does not go anywhere....ultimately everyone is here for jobs...and this "kolaveri di" to increase seats at premier institutions of the country has dented the brand image of the colleges really bad...The golden days of IIM's were when they had around 200 students in each of the big 4 and the students had bargaining power....Our great Mr. Arjun Singh has nullified this bargaining power by his whims.... Great step indeed...to maintain the student intake at 2 digit levels....

Address should most probably be this...

But, to be sure, do call the admissions office once before sending.

[image] _Visual by Deanmeyersnet_ It is no secret that if entrance scores permit, many MBA hopefuls would seek admission only to those b-schools that offer the most lucrative placements. That an MBA degree in India, comes packaged with a job is understood. But not so in b-schools abro...

I fail to understand one thing here..is that jst because Indian MBA colleges have placements at the end of the MBA degree....it does not mean that students have it easy all the way...even for placements...one has to slog a lot...work hard on your CV...nd all the other things which a US MBA does...jst tht the placement cell plays a big role in getting the companies to the campus...bt aftr that its the hard work of the student that pays....u don't get anything on platter here in India....no matter whr u are..u have to fight really hard to get nyhtng wrthwhile...:)

also one question..
what is the difference between ignicion and acropolis forum???
which is for wht?

Hi,

Ignicion was the forum for students with GD-Pi calls so that the seniors can help them in the interview stage.
Now, for people who have cleared the final hurdle and have become part of the helL family....Acropolis is the place to be....to get all your nitty gritty queries answered and also get to know your fellow batchmates.....
We are in the process of approving your join requests for the acropolis forum and the login ids would be active by tommorow.

Thanks,
Rathore

Hey seniors,
Can u please give us some information about the exchange program if any at IIM-L?

The exchange program in IIM L is on par with the programs at ABC. We have around 15-20 colleges where students can go on exchange programs. The colleges are mostly in Europe, with a few in Canada. No US B-School as of now,but we might be having a few from next year. People interested in exchange programs need to have a minimum CG and the expenses are borne by the student himself though few schools do have some scholarships which generally the people with higher CG's get....

You can visit the following link for more information:
Student Exchange

Hope this satisfies your query!!!

For all your queries related to placements....refer the following article:

IIM Lucknow Placements 2011: 528 job offers to 366 students
Prospective Students

Any other information apart from the above sources cannot be provided on this forum.

Also, regarding specific queries like front office roles, strategic consulting , management consulting....these are very specific queries which can only be cleared once you enter the campus....the policy is consistent across ABCL....and any aberration to the same is not possible.....So, kindly refrain from mocking the policy and try to ask queries which are more pertinent in helping you decide which college you want to join.

@iota.....Please don't get swayed by rumours....I am currently part of an IIM and can vouch for what I say......MBA especially at IIM's is not just a mugging business........there are a pleothra of activities and studies and academics are a part of the entire process and not the sole entity:):)

@iota........your statement regarding CG being the only criteria for good company shorlists...is totally baseless and farcical......companies look for overall profile which includes your extra-curriculars while shortlisting people...else all IIM's will become drudgeries where people study for 18 hours out of 24hours.....which is far from reality....people take part in all kinds of activities...which helps them in their overall development....Only and I repeat only if you are targetting "Big 2-3 Consults" and top i-banks you need to focus only on acads.......else CGPA is just one of the factors in getting good placements...

Good report..But we need a more indepth analysis of the salaries in terms of the median and the lowest figure offered.... Also, one of the comments here mentions that I has a batch size of 400...which is true for the current batch and not for the outgoing batch!!

It's interesting to observe how sections of the latest ranking results resemble those in the PaGaLGuY Rankings of 2008. The economic recession came and went, and in many ways the last year's (2010) PaGaLGuY Rankings reflected the challenges b-schools faced in placing their batches during hard tim...
