And please don't get me started on maturity. People can find what they want to read and they can decide for themselves. So, don't try and influence them by posting such baseless articles. And seriously, all CAPS post? Maybe a good B-School will teach you why you should avoid using all CAPS on public forums. All the best.

Note: I put it in the last post as well, but you missed it i think "this post, and the last one wasn't meant to hurt anyone."
this was my last post regarding this issue.

No, I know what placement report shows is the CTC. There are many other ways to look at it. That's the problem, you think B-Schools don't add value. That's why I called it a misguiding post. There are so many other things to look at. What kind of clubs are there (whatever people say, clubs do add value), what kind of courses, which streams are good (for example IIM C is good for finance, etc.). All the the top 15 B-Schools do give you a chance at good placements. So it's what you do here that matters. Remember, it's difficult to get into a B-School, but its more difficult to get out.
A B-School would be the last course for most people..Life in a B School is something that is way more important. If you don't fit in the college and its ways, there's no point in getting into the college. You'll not find what you want out of it. I know a senior who had to choose between two reputed colleges in NCR, he chose the one which had a football field. He got a good placement and you know the best part, he's happy for those two years he spent here. He told us before we joined the institute: "When you have to choose between B-Schools (if the choice is between institutes in top 15), see what you want during these two years and not what you'll get after 2 years".
I'll still hold my point, this article was misguiding in a way that it changes the focus to less important things.

This is the trend for 2011-13 admission cycle. I found this on last year's thread. Thought this might help. *MDI 2011 TimeLine* (Figures mentioned below may be a little here and there):*Source*: Last yr's PG thread! 1) 1st List - 22nd Apr (1st installment till 4th May) - PGPM(470) - IM(557...

See, first thing is that this year's process is completely different from the last year's process. So, there is no point in expecting the same trend. Secondly, the 3rd list was out on 18th June, and people till around 1050 rank were called, not sure if it was 1041 or 1050.

Hey, you should have atleast read the article before you put it here. This article might misguide people. It is full of sentences like "This statement is based on anecdotal evidence and we have no survey or empirical evidence to show for it". If you read the article completely, you'll find that it is baseless. They don't have any facts to support the article. Then why misguide people?

See most people who choose to go to a good B-School, be it MDI or any of the good institutes, must have an idea of what they are getting into. And my message to aspirants: talk to seniors of the B Schools you are going to and students of other B-Schools also. You'll get an idea of what you need to do and whether you fit in the institute or not and make a choice based on what you think, not because of some baseless article.

Note: This message was not meant to hurt anyone, it is just my opinion. All the best to everyone for a bright future.

2. bike rides with friends to city outskirts
3. pakoras and tea after getting drenched in rain
4. walking and stamping through the puddles of water on roads
5. most important of all: keechad mein football

I think you should bank more on your own preparations, just my opinion-this is what i did. First check you basics, get them right. same old suggestions, keep solving old mock papers and reviewing each mock. Solve lots n lots of questions. The real hard part is this period till July. This is the area that brings a gap in preparations. Prepare well till, say mid june mid; then go for a mock series or two and join review classes if you want to revise your basics before the D-Day. You can do all this even with a tight work schedule.
all the best!!
