One year PGPM students at SP Jain complete 100 percent placements

SPJainThe Mumbai based SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) reported 100 percent placement during ALP (Application of Learning Programme) placements for the fifth batch of its one year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM). The Class of 2009 comprises of 55 participants who have an average work experience of approximately six years.

The companies which hired participants for the ALP programme were Agility Logistics, Aqua MCG, BAeHAL, Conjoin Group, Frost & Sullivan, IDFC, ITC, John Deere, KPIT Cummins, KPMG, L&T HED, L&T Infotech, Loop Mobile, Mobisoc, OTIS, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Siemens, Spanco Telesystems, Spice Digital & Zycus. The placement process saw offers from traditional sectors such as Information technology, telecom, finance and marketing etc. as well as emerging sectors such as corporate strategy, project finance and supply chain.

Consulting, market research, marketing & finance were some of the areas in which the participants got their projects. Consulting Assignments which generated the maximum number of offers had various roles attached to it; some of the prominent ones being IT consulting, supply chain consulting, management consulting and logistics consulting.

Five Students secured international ALP projects in association with Reutlingen University in Germany.

What is ALP?

ALP – Application of Learning in the curriculum of PGPM aims to strengthen the industry-academia relationship. As part of ALP, participants undertake full time projects at company premises for a period of six weeks starting 24th August 2009. During this period, the participants take up projects and companies can leverage on the experience of participants across diverse domains. At the end of the term, the candidates present a report to the company. The project is also evaluated by the institute.

Good news again ! This confirms my theory that no matter how economy fares, the people in best bschools wil get placed !! thanks for sharing the info..

Hi Ankur,

The info is for the Autumn Placements, and not the final one. You will have to wait two more months for those figures to be declared.

And, I guess SPJIMR never gives figures for its internships/autumn placements.

The figures dont tell the whole story. what is important is what roles we are going in. and as part of the PGPM 508 i can surely tell you that all the guys are in very good roles in the above mentioned companies.
the work is very challenging and lets see what the future has for us in the coming 3-4months(course ends in DEC-2009). Pankaj Kumar

These are for the 6 week “internship” and not the final placements.These rarely result in PPO’s.The true test of the institute’s repu is coming in 2 months , and going by the present reports , its not going to be cakewalk.

This just shows if the class size is small and institute in top 10 , placements dont get postponed indefinately

Can anyone share details about the packages offered.
Did any International Placements happen ?

I am a MBA aspirant so i request all to kindly share some more insights on the same .
