I have a query. The two articles which we are supposed to submit, should they necessarily be related to MBA?

@navneet: Not necessarily. But they should substantially demonstrate your writing and thinking skills.

@athulpillai: work hours are roughly 10 am to 7 pm. however, i am not sure if a job at PG can play second fiddle to CAT prep :) . Maybe if you’re planning to take CAT/GMAT one/two years down the line.

bhaskaryya
#29 August 14, 2009, 3:33 pm

But doesn’t it always need to be a two way process Shiva? :D

shiva
#30 August 14, 2009, 4:24 pm

bhaskaryya, what comes to your mind when you think of Eric Schmidt and Stanford(when the admission board was deciding whether to let him come or not-who is more now-Stanford or Eric), of Phaneesh Murthy and Infosys(when infosysians were deciding whether to let him come or not), of Nandan Nilekani and Unique Identity Authority of India(Nandan is benifitted or UIAI? Gainer is entire India!)What makes IIM’s PIs make a decision in you favour-clearly they think that when you pass out from the institute your personal brand value adds immesely to the institute reputation…

bhaskaryya
#31 August 14, 2009, 8:18 pm

@Shiva, I couldn’t agree more but we must also consider the fact that when one passes out of an IIM a lot is added to his personal brand value from his experiences within those 2 years. And a major chunk of that additional value has to be credited to the institute. So at the end of the day, it is always a give and take process.
